摘要：探访溪美村，发现古树如翠华。溪美村，一个被小溪环绕的传统村落，其中不乏200年以上树龄的古榕树，数量达40多棵。 villagers particularly value tree planting and protection, with trees visible in front of houses, behind them, along the stream banks and roads. The village is home to many well-preserved ancient buildings.
Recently, the village was selected as one of China's traditional villages by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and other seven departments. With its golden signboard known as a "national brand," what makes Ximeizi Village so special? Our reporter visited the village recently to find out.
Upon entering Ximeizi Village, we were struck by the towering ancient trees. The village is surrounded by a small stream, which has given rise to unique features. According to Mr. Fang Yunqing, director of the village committee, there are over 40 ancient fig trees older than 200 years in this village alone.
Every year on February 15th according to the lunar calendar, Ximeizi Village holds an annual folk festival where they worship deities said to bring blessings and prosperity for crops; it takes place under these ancient fig trees.
Ximeizi Village has a history dating back more than 400 years; it retains numerous well-preserved old homes that reflect local architectural styles from both Chaoshan and Hakka cultures. Of these residences represented by Andun Nansuo (Andun South Hall) and Andun Beisuo (Andun North Hall), there are nearly thirty preserved structures with tile roofs characteristic of Hakka architecture.
What surprised us most was discovering an early Qing dynasty wall painting depicting West Lake in Huizhou inside an old house within this very same settlement - spanning 1.2 meters long x 0.4 meters wide - attributed to wealthy resident Mr.Fang Lidong during that era; experts from local museums have tentatively identified it as one of earliest depictions ever recorded about West Lake in Huizhou!
In addition , visitors can hear distinct "Sharp Rice Mountain Songs" here among villagers who speak their own dialect called "Sharp Rice Language" with some influence from guest families' speech patterns .These songs sung using Sharp Rice Language are termed "Sharp Rice Mountain Songs", primarily focusing on love songs though now only senior citizens aged fifty-six or above still maintain this tradition ; residents suggest documenting these songs along with written records for preservation purposes while teaching children how sing them too .
The modern cultural square offers pleasant leisure spaces for locals living here .
Beforehand ,the town had already earned titles such as “Ecological Model Village,” “Top Ten Most Beautiful Forest Homesteads”and even received recognition through multiple awards like those related rural tourism model status within our country!
Mr.Fang Yunqing mentioned that unique characteristics including ancient trees & historical dwellings plus regional festivals would serve good bases for promoting rural tourism projects — currently planning construction work around an amphitheater-style outdoor theater venue alongside accommodation options such as homestays & farm stays also plans underway .Local business owners see potential growth opportunities here opening garden shops nearby too .
As development prospects materialize amid renewed interest towards heritage sites ,villagers return home seeking collaboration building cooperatives dedicated toward aromatic woods production .It seems hopeful that new life will be breathed into our historic Ximei’s countryside via rural travel experiences!
